Nick's official 2 year check up was this past
week!! All MRI, Spinal Tap, and blood test
came back CLEAR!!! Nick has an appointment on
October 12th, to see a specialist about his
hearing. The great news about that is it can be
FIXED! The audio gram showed the nerve damage
Nick has is not bad at all. So, what is causing
his hearing loss is in the middle ear, and will
be taken care of as soon as we know exactly what
it is.

***Update***
The doctor found alot of fluid in both Nicks
ears on the 12th. Nick is scheduled for
outpatient surgery on Oct 28th and they will
place tubes in his ears to drain the fluid,
which should definatly improve his hearing! He
has just gotten a nasty cold though, so they
may have to wait till he is over it....Please
keep Nick in your prayers =]

Nick has discovered that he has increased his
arm and grip strength enough over the summer to
MAKE IT ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE MONKEY BARS!




Nick is doing fairly well in school. He's
realized that 5th grade is a bit harder than
4th, but he is still a trooper. We are
working with his physcologist and the school
admin. to ensure everything is being done to
help things run as smoothly as possible. I cant
say enough good things about National
Heritage Academy! Nick has a new para - pro
this year, Mrs H. who is awesome ! Nick's
new homeroom teacher Mr D. is also rated top
notch by Nick! (having a gecko as a classroom
pet definately helped) But seriously - Nick has
a wonderful team of teachers and therapists
this year - and looks forward to working with
them all =]

On the home front, Nick has been having fun
with all his critters. He has been spending
alot of time with Hockey.......
and we are happy to report that we have found
her VERY quickly BOTH times she got out in the
past couple months....(shhh....we didnt tell
grandma.....)

Nick is still not sure what he wants to be for
Halloween this year But, whatever it is.....
it'll be cool =]We will post a nice scary
picture of him as soon as we can!In the
meantime, thank you all for visiting and taking
