Wow! It's been WAY too long since the last
update huh?! 5 months!
Nick's 10th birthday was March 21st, and we
thank you all for the many cards and gifts.
We also thank you for your continued
support in prayer. Nick's big birthday
presant this year was an electric guitar.
He's going to be the next Elvis grandma says!
Nick's MRI this past May again showed no
sign of the cancer returning. He is
scheduled this August for his TWO YEAR chk
up! They say if the cancer comes back - it
usually does within the first 2 years after
chemo. So folks - it looks like we've
about reached a major mile stone in Nick's
recovery!!
Nick's tyroid levels are low. He started
medication for that in April. We are
hoping it will help him grow, as he hasnt
grown much in the past year at all. It
seems to have helped some already though
with his energy level - which in turn helps
him feel like playing more, which helps him
to get stronger, so he can do things
better, and his confidence is growing!
It's a great snowball effect!!! Dr Al
says that Nick doesnt need any summer
physical therapy this year - he just
needs to PLAY !! ;-)
We believe Nick's hearing has worsened a
little. That will be tested before school
starts this summer. He is saying "huh?"
way too many times - alot more than before.
And now he's actually added..."what - I
can't hear you?!" So, hopefully we'll get
that under control and if he needs anything
to help him hear better - it'll be in place
before he starts the 5th grade in the fall.
We will be working on Math this summer -
that's the one subject he needs extra help
in. Otherwise he did pretty good in the 4th
grade. His teacher Mrs. M, and his
para-pro Mrs S, really did a fantastic job
with him. Mrs S. missed the last week of
school to have a little baby! Her name is
Katie and she is a real cutie! We made a
web page for her and everyone in the class
signed it with their congratulations.
Nick's newest pet is Sam, a baby painted
turtle I found while on a walk thru the
woods. He is really cute, and eats
crickets like a little pig! Sam lives
in an aquarium in Nick's room now along
with his Chincilla, tarantula, parakeet,
and cockatiel. We'll have some more pet
pages to show case them soon !
Did you notice the new link on the index
page to a new friend of ours site? Here
name is Jalen and she has just begun her
chemo to combat the same cancer
(Medulloblastoma) that Nick had. If you
have a minute or two, please stop by and
sign her guestbook with some cheerful
words and keep her and her family in your
prayers. Just click
HERE.
Well, thats all for now.....you all
have our thanks and are remembered in
our prayers each night.
God Bless, till next time
~Pam, Bob, & Nick
